Pure Geek
47 % Nerd, 52% Geek, 43% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Geek, earning you the title of: Pure Geek.

It’s not that you’re a school junkie, like the nerd, and you don’t really stand out in a crowd, like the dork, you just have some interests that aren’t quite mainstream. Perhaps it’s anime, perhaps it’s computers, perhaps it’s bottlecaps, perhaps it’s all of those and more. Your interests take you to events and gatherings that are filled with people you find unusual and beyond-the-pale, but you don’t quite consider yourself “of that crowd.” Instead, you consider yourself to be fairly normal.

Which, you are.

Congratulations! You’re the one on the RIGHT!

Posted as a comment to and reposted here.

I dont find this result surprising – actually, its what I predicted.

Lets face it, Joe Palestinian (or would that be Achmed Palestinian?) lives on $2 a week, and Fatah has been leaching the foreign aid and failing to provide basic services. Hamas, on the other hand, runs schools, hospitals, day care, etc. Which would you vote for? The comparison I make is to Nation of Islam.

Next prediction… Likud wins a clear majority and Netanyahu is the next PM of Israel. Then, either Hamas fllows the IRA’s lead or it becomes even more bloody then before.

“History has shown that democracies yield the peace.” George W. Bush, 23 January 2006 speech at Kansas State University

Can’t really argue with that… Oh yeah, except for that whole Hitler thing. But aside from Hitler… right, there is the Napoleon thing as well, but aside from Hitler & Napoleon… well, yes, the Roman Senate… But aside from a few minor exceptions, he is right. Democracies yield the peace.

Just wonder who he think they yield it to….

For those who may not have seen it…

Also, it seems as though Harry & Ron were off for a ride not too long ago…

  1. Do NOT install beta code at 3pm on a Friday, especially when you ware working off site.
  2. is evil.
  3. Do not try drinking while reading as coke out the nose hurts (reference number two above).
  4. Reading the entire archive of will use up virtually all of your weekend.
  5. Nuclear meltdown combined with a presidential election and an imminent war in Asia do not improve a show. They actually make it much worse. (OK< I already knew that, but the writers and producers dont seem capable of learning.)
  6. The Book of Daniel gets better with each episode.
  7. I have lost my patience for sitcoms. I just find them more dumb then funny these days – with a very few notable exceptions.
  8. The eggplant rollatini at Bella Monicas is not only incredibly tasty, but fine as your entree, especially when combined with a salad.

You scored as Shepherd Derrial Book. The Preacher.  Out here, folks need a minister, if only to remind them that God hasn’t forgotten them.  It isn’t about making them worship, it is teaching them to do right by themselves and other people.  Why is that so hard for some to understand?

Can you tell I’m bored today?

Yeah… well, its not that I dont have work to do… just little motivation. Cause its mostly grunt work right now. I really need something to sick my teeth into. Problem is, the grunt work has to get done, and no one else is going to do it. And, it gets backlogged. :(

So, I went to Wikipedia and looked up Atlow. Not much of an entry. Anyone think i should update it?

It was a pretty good weekend – went to the gym on Saturday morning, then to Harris Teeter and did some shopping. Made a fruit salad to take first to Corwyn & Marni’s ‘We Got Married’ party and then on to the K’berg party. Had fun at both parties, and enjoyed Trivial Pursuit at the K’berg shin dig.

Sunday was spent mostly cleaning around the house. Did six loads of laundry.

Watched two movies – both really good – Madagascar and Wedding Crashers.

I have a new favorite TV show – The Book of Daniel. When I saw the ads for it, I had some desire to check it out. Then the controversy erupted and I figure anything that gets the religious rights panties in such a twist before it has even aired I want to see. The premier was pretty good, and I thought the message was actually wholesome – in fact, I think the religious right would have done more good by promoting the show based upon the messages it sent. (Of course, that would have meant they actually practiced the ‘love thy fellow man’ which they claim to preach… but thats a tangent of a different color.) The second episode similarly held my interest, and had me laughing when Daniel mistook two mobsters for a gay couple he was expecting. And then, the line that sold me on loving the show happened. In response to Daniel’s probing question about why he was so angry with his father, a parishioner said ‘Because his new wife is my ex-wife.’ SOLD!

To be honest, the show has very little plot wise to distinguish it from any other soap opera. Honestly. Brother-in-law embezzled. Mother wont sign over deed to house. Gay son. Adopted son. Daughter caught selling drugs. Can you say Dallas? All My Children? I thought you could. But the writing is extremely well done. if anything, I find myself wishing Daniel would be given a break. No wonder he keeps reaching for the codeine (or whatever prescription pain killer he is abusing).

And yes, I even like the Jesus character. Wait, dont sayy it – but I’m Jewish. Does not mean I cannot respect the way the character acts and what he umm… well… preaches. ;) (I think the line “I talk to everybody, but not everyone listens” was extremely well done.) – Dont get me wrong, I am not going to convert because of this show. But I think religions are basically teaching the same thing – quick stand on one leg and I’ll explain the Talmud – Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. And in that respect, the show scores very well.

I am sure I will be flamed by some random passer by for this entry, but what the heck. Long as they dont do it anonymously, it will be protected speech. ;)

Ah well… I’ll go back to my procrastinating now.
