Coronation

This was a good event. Lukas’ (Adam) dad & his grilfriend came to the event and seemed to have a ball. Unfortunately they got there just as Last Court was ending, so Lukas missed the coronation ceremony getting them into garb. (NB: I am practicing calling Adam by his SCA name…)

We had packed a bit of food for lunch and so was offering it to all who came by – which was fun. The one thing we were missing was a day shade, so that may need to be rectified in the not so distant future.

Lukas submitted his device & name – poor Allison, she had fallen and was uncomfortable but stuck with us until we got the needed documentation for the name (Lukas Brierly, which being as one of Elizabeth;’s council was named Brierly should not jhave been anywhere near as difficult to document as it was….). His Excellency was also fantasticly helpful and patient. He had worked through a device idea with Lukas some time ago which turned out to have a conflict. So he came prepared – multiple copies of the proposal so Lukas could draw all over it, a brand spankin new box of Crayolas, etc.

While we were at the Heralds table, Lukas’ dad & his gf were at the photographer. They seemed to really enjoy that. Wish I had realized A&S was in the other hall or I would have made sure to send them that way as well. C’est la vie.

They really enjoyed feast – though by the middle of it they were stuffed and spent and decided to head home.

As for me, it was a great day though it hit a rough point during feast when it hit me that was on site, at feast, but not at the same table. This really threw me and made me realize that over the past couple of years my place in the SCA has changed – or at least I perceive it to have changed. And that is an adjustment which is going to take time to make and get used to.

Sirtting with James, Helwynn, Ros, , for feats was a lot of fun.

Chatting with even for a short period of time is always a pleasure.

Overall, there has been a lot of change in my life of late – Lukas/Adam, school and moving, new house, work getting even crazier, etc. I am not sure where its going but I may be a little out of sorts til it all settles down. I know things cant go back to the way they were, but sometimes I wish some things would. Course hindsight is always 20/20.
