Troll v Gate

I know, sounds like something SCOTUS should be hearing.

Sorry to re-raise this issue, but I was doing some pondering on the ride in… It started by me wondering how come its so hard for me to change that behavior and thinking back to how long it took feastocrat to become head cook.

I recalled that there seemed to be a general consensus in disliking the feastocrat term. So then why do people like troll?

Then I remember someone, perhaps Dunstan, suggested that we use the period term for the person who takes your money and makes you sign a waiver, and added ‘oh, right, there isn’t one.’

Then I thought, wait.. people went to the globe. Someone took their money. What was that guy called? Is Box Office a period term?

Then I started yelling at the guy who cut me off.

4AM

Not sure what got Garbo going, but something was in the front lawn. When I finally got her quieted down and on the leash, she was all over the lawn sniffing and searching and very alert. She did take off after a bunny at one point – my shoulder still aches – but I was somewhat prepared as she was so alert. She is laying quietly now, but if anything moves she is all alert – I shift in the couch, one of the cats twitches its tail, anything. I am hoping this does not last long and she falls to sleep soon.

I have lost count, but between the crud and now the dog, I seem to have woken up at 4am every day for the past two weeks. *sigh*

They just dont get it

Yes, Northern Trust, you are correct. There was nothing to be gained by canceling your sponsorship of an already planned golf tournament after accepting TARP dollars. Complete the tournament for this year, back away, and let someone else pick it up for next year, or let it die on the vine. Thats fine.

There is a metric fuck-ton wrong with sponsoring employee and client parties and concerts, especially with the likes of Sheryl Crowe and Chicago as headliners. ALL of that should have been canceled. You don’t get to borrow $1.6 billion dollars and then throw a big party. So what that none of the TARP money was spent on the party. A little restraint and you wouldn’t need to have borrowed $1.6 billion of taxpayer dollars. Maybe you would only have had to borrow $1 billion, or maybe none at all.

Let me explain this in simple terms… you are now on austerity. You need pens, computers, etc. to run the business, fine. You need toilet paper… ok, you get one square but you better use it sparingly, cause you may not get another.

Starting to make sense?

Classic Blunders

Apparently, they fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is: Never get involved in a land war in Asia Atlantia.

Oh! My Eye!

See if you can follow…

I reach for a pot lid… it falls and knocks my glasses off my face and cuts my eye lid, then bounces off my face and knocks over the flowers A got me for valentines, causing the vase to go smash all over the floor.

Already sick as a dog with the crud, now with a cut over my eye and my eye swollen, and having to pick glass off the floor. Can I have a do-over?

Free Four

For Balynar

The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.

Life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long cold rest.
You get your chance to try in the twinkling of an eye:
Eighty years, with luck, or even less.

So all aboard for the American tour,
And maybe you’ll make it to the top.
And mind how you go, and I can tell you, ’cause I know
You may find it hard to get off.

You are the angel of death
And I am the dead man’s son.
And he was buried like a mole in a fox hole.
And everyone is still on the run.

And who is the master of fox hounds?
And who says the hunt has begun?
And who calls the tune in the courtroom?
And who beats the funeral drum?

The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom in the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.
