Floating around Teh InterWebs:
According to the Jewish calendar, the year is 5769.
According to the Chinese calendar, the year is 4706.
This means that the Jews went without Chinese food for 1,063 years.
This period was known as the Dark Ages
It is actually 5770 as of today, 18 September. A happy & a healthy new year to everyone. May you be inscribed in the book of life for another year. Shana Tova.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a phone call is worth a dozen emails.
Remember to check time zones on 9am meetings. Pacific, Eastern, and GMT are NOT the same. *sigh*
Lets just say it was a silly weekend
Got a lot done, but not everything that needed to be…
Tried out a really good chili recipe and an even better corn bread recipe.
Went shopping for a new couch on Sunday and found a likely candidate, but the place does not deliver, so thats a challenge.
Used Garbo to help catch a neighbor’s dog that we saw wandering loose and watched almost get hit by a car. Little scary but Im glad she is safe and back home.
Else wise, a pretty relaxed weekend.
I was going to post something similar to what I posted on the one year anniversary… that I was not going to let the terrorists win and that i was going to remember the other things about the day. But you can read that here.
Instead… this morning on the ride in, at 8:46am, NPR aired this story. Go read it, or better yet, listen to the audio. It stopped my train of thought in its tracks. I knew I needed to share this.
True heroes.
I have tried to avoid the health care debate, but I do want to call attention to the Healthy Americans Act (S.391). It has gotten very little coverage, but I think it may be the most viable and palatable solution that has been proposed. Kudos to Senator Wyden for proposing it – twice.
Some links…
Senator Wyden’s web page on The Healthy Americans Act.
Wyden’s other page on the HAA.
